Don't Blame Losman; O Played the Same!

Buffalo Bills Don't Blame Losman;  Bills' O Played the Same!

JP Losman is going to be the whipping boy for this loss. However, the fact is that the Bills' O contributed about the same as it has to date in every other game, two TDs.  The offense put up two touchodowns apiece against Seattle, Jacksonville, the Rams, and three against Oakland.  A field goal or two was not the difference in this game.  This was also the perfect game to use to point out numerous things about these 2008 Bills that are clouding the reality and lofting the faulty perceptions as to how good this team really is.

Bills Continue to Win, Tie ’92 Win Streak, But Concerns Remain

For the first time since the ’92 season in the Polian/Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, Reed era, the Bills have started off 4-0. A win next week on the road in Arizona would tie the ’91 Bills start of 5-0 and the longest that the Bills have had as a franchise in the NFL. The Bills however struggled through three quarters again, and against arguably the worst team in the NFL and one whose head coach was fired immediately following the game. And again, it was the defense that had to provide the spark to propel the Bills to a win as the offense once again struggled immensely against a team for which the going should have been relatively smooth sailing.

Bills’ O Hits Snooze Button for Three Quarters; Arises in Time for Win

Bills’ O Hits Snooze Button for Three Quarters; Arises in Time for Win

Through three quarters yesterday the Bills’ offense could not get its head off the pillow as the music alarm went off. It was Bills offense rivaling that of last season through the last play of the 3rd quarter with only 11 1st-downs, 1-of-8 in 3rd-down conversions, few yards, no thrust, and pathetic play. But then the buzzer went off and overrode the easy-listening station that had been the alarm and the Bills played lights out offense throughout the 4th-quarter with the emphasis there being entirely on the inconsistent Edwards!

Buffalo Bills I'd be interested to get your analysis on him, as you seemed to be lacking confidence in him as the year was starting.
Have you changed your thinking or do you expect him to fade as the season wears on?

  Bills Pass First Major Test

Buffalo Bills Bills Overcome First Major Hurdle in Proving that They are for Real

The Bills took on both the Jags and the Florida heat on the road in Jacksonville and came out of the melee as winners, standing tall over one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this season.  Special teams had a quiet day while the D dominated again with the O contributing what it had to with a notably more fundamentally solid game than last week although still leaving room for improvement.  As a result, the Bills are one of nine 2-0 teams and among the few hottest teams in the league at the moment.

Buffalo Bills Justin:

I just saw that Jacksonville is going to be without their starting center and both their starting guards.  Peters should be playing this weekend as well.  This could bode well for our defense.
Our offense may struggle, however.  Jax's D is better than Seattle's.  I think if we can play solid D and special teams, we can squeek out a win, something like 16-14 or 13-10 or something.  If we can pull this one out, I think we have a real possibility of going 4-0 with Oakland and St. Louis the next 2 games.

Smothering D, Special Teams Scores Help Bills Dominate

Scoring was plentiful for the Bills in this season opener.  The Bills defense overwhelmed an ill-prepared Seattle offense and special teams once again led the way as the offense rode coattails.  Fundamentals on defense were solid, fundamentals on offense picked up right where they were last season.  Special teams as usual also showed up to play and shared the spotlight with the D.

Rubber, Road. Road, …Rubber

With near record second-best ticket sales the Bills prepare to show their wares in just a few days. The deck has been reshuffled slightly on the defensive side of the ball and the offense has been given a thorough media style whitewash. But now the rubber meets the road as it were.

The Bills: One Froggy Evening

The Warner Brothers cartoon One Froggy Evening came out on New Year’s Eve 1955. In it a construction worker finds a crooning frog with a top hat and cane. The frog leaps out of the box and begins singing. With dollar signs flashing in his eyes and with visions of riches, the man sets out to get the frog to perform in a public venue. Behind the scenes and out of the public view the frog is a sensation. So it goes with the new millennium Bills.

Buffalo Bills
Some fans view the "glass of the Bills" as being half-full and filling fast, while others view it as being half-empty and draining or certainly not receiving any visits from the bartender for refills. Certainly something can be said for the infusion of youth on the team, but until that youth actually plays out to something meaningful, this team’s brain trust is not off the hook and time is not on their side. Regardless, with season ticket sales at record highs, a very good thing and huge notch in Russ Brandon’s belt, that does not alter what the team will bring to the table this fall. Which will be what exactly?
