  Camp Schmamp!

Buffalo Bills Camp Schmamp!

Up next, training camp in just over three weeks.  Fans will then be treated to the sales pitch of sales pitches although that will pertain to the camps of most teams, not just the Bills.

Buffalo Bills You can take the player out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the player.  Or so it seems.

Reports on the Marshawn Lynch hit-and-run incident are not encouraging.  It seems that now Russ Brandon, several other Bills officials and players to include rookie WR hopefuls James Hardy and Steve Johnson as the team's big "plus up" on the field for the hope of the offense, are to be subpoenaed to appear before a Grand Jury for purposes of getting to the bottom of the matter.

Buffalo Bills Lynch Situation Worse than Being Reported?

While not much is being reported, the silence on the matter is approaching a deafening crescendo.  If Lynch had not been involved, then no doubt his attorney as well as team officials would be pushing people out of the way to get to a microphone.

Buffalo Bills Brandon's Debut Raises Questions:  Once Again, Organization Proves it Doesn't Have a Clue Beyond the Obvious!

Fine, round one you go for a need pick in McKelvin and follow it up with yet another need pick due to former failure and neglect of the same in seasons leading to this point.  OK, so there's little room for criticism there.  But then to draft primarily guys penciled in as late rounders or even Undrafted Free Agents in critical rounds 3-5??  Fans having thrown in the towel have no reason to second guess their actions.

Little Room for Criticism in Bills Day One

Buffalo Bills On one hand the Bills addressed two immediate needs on Day One of the 2008 Draft, yet on the other they had quite a few immediate needs.  Still, the question remains;  Given that the offense was ranked 31st in 1st Downs generated, 32nd in plays run from scrimmage, 32nd in offensive scoring, 32nd in 3rd-Down Conversions, etc., does the team understand what it has to do to improve?  The defense was not good either, but it was substantially better than the dead last ranked offense with more holes than O.J. Simpson's defense.

Bills Should Go Brandon Albert or Trade Down
Posted by Mark on Friday, April 25 @ US Mountain Standard Time (49 reads) (Read More... | 858 bytes more | comments? | Score: 0)
Buffalo Bills For the Bills at 11th tomorrow, if Virginia OG Brandon Albert is available there they should jump on the opportunity.  Albert would give the Bills the biggest bang for the buck and correct the most the quickest and aid a 32nd ranked offense significantly beginning almost immediately.

There is not a WR worth taking at 11th and CBs run deep enough for the Bills to snag one in the 2nd round or even 3rd.

  Seventh Time is the Charm?

Buffalo Bills Those entrusted with conducting the Bills' drafts in the modern era of Bills' football, perhaps the most failed era of the franchise overall and generally speaking, have yet to turn an above average draft.  Novice ticket salesman and marketer Russ Brandon now joins Tom Modrak, John Guy, and Doug Majeski to once again offer fans hope that perhaps someone looking at the draft board on Saturday actually knows more than they have in past years about the players on it.  At some point however, and one would think that such a point has come and gone, it would seem to be wise to cut losses and move on where issues exist.  AHEM, ... personnel/player evaluation staff!

Bills’ Options for Draft are Legion

Buffalo Bills
The Bills will be turning to their draft this fall for the lion’s share of on-field improvements in leading the charge in this third and very critical season for validating the new era Bills under the coaching of Dick Jauron with the Caped Crusader part of the Ivy League Dynamic Duo now having left town unceremoniously. Whether or not it is wise to rely on a rookie draft class for such validation can certainly be debated, both history and common sense suggest that it is certainly an aggressive position to be able to adequately defend.

Bills’ Schedule Released: Bills Won’t Be Squishing Fish in Buffalo
Posted by Mark on Wednesday, April 16 @ US Mountain Standard Time (64 reads) (Read More... | 6879 bytes more | 1 comment | Score: 5)
Buffalo Bills
NFL team schedules were released yesterday and Bills fans were dealt yet another blow in "adding insult to injury" fashion with the realization that the annual "Squish the Fish" game would not be played in Buffalo this season on top of the already dejecting notion that "home" games are headed to Toronto. If Bills fans want to see the Fish squished then they will have to do it in Toronto. Fan reviews from varying sources were largely mixed but more negative than positive. Otherwise a B-league schedule is a good sign for fans whose hopes are for winning predicated on an easy schedule.

Rumors of Bills Being Big Players in Free Agency Prove Unfounded
Posted by Mark on Friday, March 21 @ US Mountain Standard Time (75 reads) (Read More... | 4150 bytes more | comments? | Score: 5)
Buffalo Bills
Prior to NFL 2008 Free Agency there were rumors that the Bills were prepared to strike, strike quickly, and land some big names in Free Agency to boost fan support via notable on-field upgrades.  As many things Bills, that quickliy flopped leaving any improvements for the '08 season up to the draft in just over a month now.  A quick show of hands by those expecting much by those that haven't brought the Bills a single draft even close to approaching an "A" grade at all yet.
